Triple Courses, part 3
As I described in Triple Courses part 1, I've been exploring the new world of triple courses. Over the past couple of months, I've started wrapping my head around this concept, and its harmonic impact. From a purely guitaristic technical aspect, I did have to learn how to adapt my technique to it, but that went more quickly than I had anticipated.
Harmonically, triple courses require a new way of thinking. Adapting to and finding new intervalic pitch-class approaches is required, and is something of a new area of research in regards to triple courses.
I am so loving the triple course on the 25-string Double Contraguitar that I want at least one more on it. Ideally, the first and second courses on both sides would be triples.
Having an instrument with four triple courses, at least right now, involves more thinking and research into intervalic pitch-classes than merely within the realm of purely guitaristic technique.
More to come.
